A short time ago it was difficult to come to the Southern Nicoya Peninsula. Gradually a sophisticated ferry system evolved that provided many daily trips from the mainland, ferries that carry over 150 cars. The rural life here is practically unchanged and visitors marvel at the ‘real’ Costa Rica they find here. Although we have had slower development, still electricity is available to even the most remote areas and municipal water associations provide delicious water from mountain springs. There is also high speed internet, cable TV and satellite TV available throughout the area.
Because the development has come at a slower pace, the prices for beachfront properties, ocean view properties, farms and hotels is far lower than in other areas. The southern Nicoya Peninsula offers all the amenities and services of the more popular areas but at bargain prices.
